Tuesday April 20th,Thursday April 22nd, and Friday April 23rd

On Tuesday we started building our combined K'nex
construction!
You can see that we started building on the left.
To start this big construction after all of the little ones, was really exciting for
most of us.
Progress in building on the right.
Both teams worked really well and efficiently.

On Thursday we got most of the work done.

Gio's happy for completing a part of the large construction :)
Ciprian showing off the big part he built for the
construction.

On Friday we were stressing out a little because we were trying to get the WHOLE construction finished.
In the end we got most of it done and Ms.D even gave us an extension for building.

Omega 8's soon to be finished construction...

K'nex Squad almost to be finished construction...

We had fun building, at sometimes we would get stressed and panic but all in all it was great. For homework due Tuesday April 27th,you have to explain how you felt you worked during the K'nex building project. You can find this on Moodle.

The Final Week of Individual K'NEX

Hello everyone!
First of all, let me welcome you to the fourth quarter! The blogging directions are a bit different for this quarter; we have to make three minor comments to the 8th grade blog(http://aisz810.blogspot.com), two minor comments to the 6th grade blog(http://aisz610.blogspot.com, starts May 1st), and three minor comments to the 7th grade blog(this one, http://aisz70910.blogspot.com). We have to make AT LEAST ONE MINOR COMMENT PER WEEK! These are the dates the comments are due:

April 16th , April 23rd , April 30th , May 7th,

May 14th , May 21st , May 28th , June 4th

The reflection post is due June 4th.

Now, in class this week, we have been working with K'NEX - this was the final week of building individual constructions! We were working mainly on pulleys and gears. We did not have to answer questions about the gears, we just had to show Ms. D that it worked. Next week we will make the big, combined K'NEX construction. All teams have passed the 35-credit limit!

We do not have any homework except for posting the comments to the blogs!

The next scribe is.............

LAURA!!!!!!!!!

Hello

What I really liked about blogging this quarter was that we could comment on 8th grade blog and Canadian blogs. It was a good occasion also to meet people from the Canadian school. I also liked that we were free to comment when we wanted to, because we could always decide when to do it. What I didn't like about this blogging quarter was that at the end of every Scribe Post or Minor Post we had to write "Minor Post # 3" or "Scribe Post #1" because I and maybe others forget those little details.

I liked this quarter blogging because we got to look at the Canadian blogs. I liked the blogging and the idea of putting a quote on what we learned. I had trouble (again) with the length of the blog post. I really enjoyed the Canadian blogs because we got to see kids our age blogging about their math class. I had some trouble finding the 8th grade blog address. Overall I liked this blogging quarter.

Erik's Reflection Post

In this quarter I liked blogging because we did minor comments and we got to look at the 8th graders Blog. We posted comments on their blog. The best thing is that we could post videos, pictures and stuff. The one thing I think I can work on with blogging is starting the requirements earlier. Then I could comment more on what people wrote. The picture to the left shows when friction is used to slow down a polar bear. Enjoy! Overall, I liked blogging.

Iva's Relection Post

Our blogging criteria was different this quarter than the blogging criteria from the second quarter. During the third quarter we had to write 1 blog post and minor 4 comments, containing 2 on our blog, one on the eighth grade blog and one on a Canadian blog. One thing I didn't like about commenting was that on the eighth grade blog when I wrote a comment, our teacher did not get a notification that I commented, and I had to comment again. I wrote quite a lot so that made me frustrated. This time I had no problem with scribing for the blog post because I typed right into blogger instead of typing on a word document and then copy-pasting off of the word document. All in all I enjoyed blogging this quarter more than the previous quarter!

Reflection Post-Fabi

This quarter's blogging experience was an interesting one. I liked it better than the first one because we didn't have to make major comments, and because we could comment on the eigth grade, seventh grade and Canadian blog. I liked reading the comments from other people that commented on my scribe post, because none of them included criticism, and most of them were helpful and nice. When I was sick one day, I used that day's scribe post to find out what I missed. Altogether, blogging this quarter was great.

Reflection Post

This quarters blogging was different than the previous quarters. We had to make 4 comments in total and one blog post. We were supposed to comment on the Canadian, 8th grade and our blog. I really liked that we did not have to write major comments for all the blogs or put a link like last time. I also liked that the Canadian students commented on our blog posts. I did not like that blogger sometimes deletes the post or comments that i wrote. I think that blogging is a great opportunity to see how other blogs look like.

Reflection Post

In this quarter I liked blogging because of the fact that we only had to make minor comments and no major link comments. I also liked the fact that we got to talk to the 8th Grade about their blog posts were. We also got to comment on school math blogs in Canada. The part I liked about commenting on Canada was that we got to learn some new math terms. The part I did not like about the blog was that it was difficult for me to find the other blogs in Canada. The hardest part of the blog was to find the creatitivity to write an interesting scribe post so that people could read it and understand.

Julia's End of the Quarter Reflection

This past 4 weeks of the 3rd quarter was rather exciting and new. About a month ago I came back to AISZ again and found that many changes occured while I was gone. I found out that we had something called blogs! It was definitely new for me. One of the hardest thing about the blog was that is was kind of hard to get use to it and it was rather hard to get around the blog. After I got used to it I realized the blog was really useful. The blog was helpful when I wasn't at school. I was still able to know what happened during class. Also the comments helped me a lot, so next time I know what to fix when writing my next blog!! Overall I enjoyed using the blog.

Reflection Post: Comments on Other Blogs.

During the third quarter we worked on simple machines. Our blog was full with pictures of srews, levers, wedges... We also started working with the Canadian blogs. We read and commented on their posts. Since the 8th grade started blogs, we were assigned to comment on their posts. I think that commenting on others people's blogs was the hardest, since it got hard to understand what they were talking about if we hadn't learned learned what they learned.
Other than that, blogging this quarter was a lot more fun, even if it was more advanced. I can't wait to continue this quarter.

Alix's reflection post

This project was unique. I can't say I liked it, but I can't say it was boring. The problem with the interest level of the blog was that it was just a review of things we had just learned. The other blogs were slightly difficult to understand, because the other authors would often add information about the topics they had learned before, so we would have to go and check up the other topics, then others, and more. The hardest part of blogging was when Blogger would malfunction and we would have to rewrite the entire comment/scribe post.

Reflection post

The hardest and most dificult part of bloging during this quarter for me was writing for the 8th grade blog. The reason for this is that I did not understand some of the astronomy which was talked about in their blog. Also, I found that it was slightly difficult for me to transition from Science to astronomy. What i liked about this quarter was that we were not required to make any major comments, and we were able to comment on the blogs of people that we do not know (Canada).

Reflection Post

What I liked in this quarter about blogging is that we got to scribe about very interesting stuff. We also commented on the 8th grade's blog. The hardest thing in blogging this quarter was writing for the Canadian blog because we had to be very formal and also because we had to read their posts which were extremly long and complicated. What I din't like was the fact that we had to make so many posts.

Self Reflection Post

In this quarter blogging was a little more complex than the previous quarter. We had to make 4 comments all together. We had to make one on the Canadian blog another one on the 8th grade blog and two on our 7th grade blog. I liked that we could look at other peoples blogs not only our 7th grade one,I really liked checking out the 8th grade one. I also liked that we didn't have to write one major comment but 2 minor. I didn't really like commenting on the Canadian blog. The 8th grade blog was easier to comment on because I actually understood what they were talking about, the math was a little too complicated so I didn't really understand. Overall I thought blogging was fun.

Bryce Reflection post

For this quarter of blogging I had some interesting thoughts about the project. It wasn't my favorite project but I thought it was okay. The hardest thing in this quarters assignment was the comment to the Canadian blog. This was hard because whenever you got on the Canadian blog every post already had a lot of comments so it was hard to find something new to say. My favorite idea about the blogging is that it can help people who were absent and inform other schools or people what we are/were doing in class.

Viktor's Reflection Post

Blogging in this quarter was much more interesting than last quarter. I enjoyed commenting to other people's blog, especially the Canadian ones, since I didn't know the people there and I could learn what they were doing in math class. I liked the fact that we didn't have to do a major comment, but it seemed like everyone was much more into blogging during the 3rd quarter. I didn't like that. It was a little bit more difficult to make the scribe post this quarter because I was the first scribe of the quarter and we had different expectations. It was also very hard, as always, to choose the next scribe. All in all, blogging is extremely fun and I wish we had a blog for every class in school!
