March 19th Class

Today in class we finally got our Super Heroes back!!!! Some of us posted pictures of our Super Heroes on the bulletin board right outside the Science classroom.

After doing that we went over the Work & Power Math 2 Problems we had for homework.

Some of the questions we did were.....

Question 2.
If 562.3 J of work are used to move a smart car 15.1m, what is the amount of force applied to that smart car?

Formula: W=Fd or F= W/d

Plug: F= 562.3 J/15.1 m

Chug: F= 37.24N

While going over our homework, we also did a quick review on our units and formulas for our quiz on Tuesday.
Here are the units and formulas for Work and Power!

Work = Force x Distance

Power = Work/Time

Work = J (joule)
Force = N (Newton)
Distance = m (meter)
Time = s (second)
Power = W (Watts)

After doing that we went to the computer lab to test another Gizmo. This time was also about inclined planes, however it was harder from what we did last time. We were changing the angle of the inclined plane and the weight of the object falling down the inclined plane to find more about the inclined plane.
So this is what we did in class on Friday. And.........
DON'T FORGET TO STUDY FOR THE QUIZ!!!!!
Study Textbook 108-118, 124-133, also practice solving the worksheet.
If you have questions you should ask Ms.D on Monday.
Be sure to bring your CALCULATOR on the Tuesday.

The next person to scribe is...................
GIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I think this was a very accurate description of the day. You might want to change some things, though. You wrote "Some of the questions we had were..." then you only explained one. In total, though, this was good.

  2. Julia great post and its your first time blogging! yey! I think that you did a great job. I love how you made that one part look like a rainbow. Very creative. I also thought that it was helpful where you wrote which pages of the book we could study from.

  3. I think this was very good information to know. You might want to have some more questions next time but this was good.

  4. Hey Julia,

    I think the post you did is very good and you went extremly in depth with explanations and everything else. A sugestion for you is to use king to take pictures of the desktop not the camera because that way it is very fuzzy and you understand very little.

  5. Julia - your first post looks great. Nice use of color to make certain words stand out - although be careful at the end of using too much. Your pictures are a nice addition, but are a bit fuzzy. Ciprian meant to say that you should use "Jing" to take screen shots, not a normal digital camera to help that situation. You could have included a few more of the problems to show power and when you manipulate the formulas. Overall though, nice work :)

  6. I think that your blog post is very well written.
    I liked that you took pictures of all the things we did in class.
    I also really liked that you put the homework in different colors, so that we can see it better.
    Next time, you could maybe have more colors and a bigger font size.
    You did a very good job for the first time.

  7. Hey Julia
    This a geat post
    I really like the fact that you included pictures. Also you have explained well what you did in class and copied the formula which is very helpful for somebody who is sick.You also used differents color which is great. Just I think that instead of taking a picture of the computer with a camera you could use some software like Camstudio,Fraps,Ding,...
    It shows better what is on the screen of the computer.
    Overall
    Good job
