My Blogging Experience (4th Quarter)

This quarter blogging was one of our top science priorities. There were a lot of things that were different from the previous blogging. We had a lot to learn and write about this quarter. I like blogging and I think it's useful to all students, even though some might not agree. Like in the previous blogs we had to comment on different blogs. All together we had to make 8 comments. Three for 8th grade three for 7th grade and 2 for 6th grade. It was 6th grades first try at blogging and they did a really good job. We also had to make a comment every Friday. Which I think was helpful because then you could see what was for homework. But also to review the things that we might of missed or to review for a quest. Overall I really liked blogging this quarter.

Tuesday April 20th,Thursday April 22nd, and Friday April 23rd

On Tuesday we started building our combined K'nex

construction!

You can see that we started building on the left.

To start this big construction after all of the little ones, was really exciting for

most of us.

Both teams worked really well and efficiently.

On Thursday we got most of the work done.

On Friday we were stressing out a little because we were trying to get the WHOLE construction finished.

In the end we got most of it done and Ms.D even gave us an extension for building.

We had fun building, at sometimes we would get stressed and panic but all in all it was great. For homework due Tuesday April 27th,you have to explain how you felt you worked during the K'nex building project. You can find this on Moodle.

Self Reflection Post

In this quarter blogging was a little more complex than the previous quarter. We had to make 4 comments all together. We had to make one on the Canadian blog another one on the 8th grade blog and two on our 7th grade blog. I liked that we could look at other peoples blogs not only our 7th grade one,I really liked checking out the 8th grade one. I also liked that we didn't have to write one major comment but 2 minor. I didn't really like commenting on the Canadian blog. The 8th grade blog was easier to comment on because I actually understood what they were talking about, the math was a little too complicated so I didn't really understand. Overall I thought blogging was fun.

Today in class we started simple machines, work and power! Yey a new unit!

Julia,Viktor, and Noam were our laptop-note takers for the day.

We learned the formulas and simple definitions of these things.

The formula for work is W=Fd be sure to make the W capital because the lower case one s for weight.

For homework we had a worksheet with work & power math problems.

For example one problem looked like this: How much work is done to move a box if the force applied to that box is 65.7 N and it is moved a distance of 12.1 m?

Formula=W=Fd

Plug=65.7N x 12.1 m

Chug=794.97J

Homework for tomorrow is to finish math problems sheet.

Thursday , 19.11.09 and Friday, 20.11.09

Ms.D also went over some math with us explaining possible and impossible things that could happen and that couldn't happen. The things that were explained are in the pictures below.

On Thursday in class we went over out homework. Our homework was a sheet of speed problems. Here's an example of what a speed problem looks like :

• Question:An Opel car travels 736 km in 8 hours. What is the speed of the car during that time?
• Answer: formula-distance/time=speed(rate) plug- s=736km/8h chug-s=92kmph

Ms.D also went over some math with us explaining possible and impossible things that could happen and that couldn't happen. The things that were explained are in the pictures above.

In class we started our new lab!

On Friday in class we finished up our bean bag lab and for homework we got another speed practice sheet
